Kovalam

The name Kovalam signifies a grove of coconut trees. Truly, the coconut trees seen all along the shores of the beach give it a look of ravishing beauty. The Kovalam beach lies on the Malabar coast in Kerala and is today one of the favourite beaches in India for the tourists. The blue waters of the Arabian sea, that mingles with the white sands on the shores with the palm fringed bays, promises a relaxed vacation to the travelers. The sound of the tides hitting the rocky shores makes it a traveler’s paradise. 
The crescent shaped beaches of Kovalam are distinguished in three parts. The southern most part consists of the Light house beach where one can have a view of the spectacular Vizhinzam mosque. The middle one is the Hawah, which acts as the base for the local fisherman. The northernmost beach is the least frequented and is a place to see the wooden fishing vessels
